of Job Duties:The Division of Nuclear Medicine Imaging Sciences in the Department of Imaging and Radiation Sciences College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks applicants for a fulltime faculty position located in Little Rock Arkansas. We are searching for a teamoriented faculty member to join the successful dynamic and expanding program. Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Tenure or nontenure track is available depending on the successful applicants qualifications.

The Nuclear Medicine Imaging Sciences bachelors degree consists of an online didactic educational component with clinical sites in Arkansas Texas Oklahoma Louisiana Nebraska Kansas South Dakota and Alabama. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.

  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the NMTCB and/or the ARRT.

  • Minimum of 3 years recent postcertification clinical experience.

  • Strong communication organization and interpersonal skills ability to identify and solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution.

  • 5 years recent postcertification clinical experience.

  • Prior teaching experience in a nuclear medicine program (online classroom and/or clinical).

  • Computed Tomography Certification by the NMTCB or the ARRT.

  • Positron Emission Tomography Certification by the NMTCB.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Teaches academic courses in area(s) of content expertise.

  • Engage in scholarly and service activities consistent with university and college expectations for core faculty.

  • Contribute to program and curriculum assessment and planning activities.

  • Participate in student advisement mentoring admissions and interviewing.

  • Perform duties related to student clinical rotations including performing required clinical visits.

  • Participate in department meetings college and university committees and state and national nuclear medicine organizations.

  • Participate in JRCNMT accreditation related review selfstudy and site visit processes.

  • Maintain current nuclear medicine certification; maintain CT and PET certification as appropriate.

  • Maintain state licensure as appropriate.
