The University of Chicagos Department of Radiology is searching for fulltime diagnostic imaging physics faculty members at any rank. The appointees will have clinical responsibilities including overseeing the QA/QC program in all diagnostic imaging modalities with an emphasis on nuclear medicine with respect to regulatory compliance ACR accreditation requirements patient safety image processing and continuous image quality improvement in imaging protocols as well as consultations in equipment purchase decisions acceptance testing shielding design and site appointees are required to fulfill the qualified medical physicists role in the departments radiopharmaceutical therapy program and work closely with the radiation safety office. Additional responsibilities include the teaching of clinical diagnostic medical physics residents radiology residents medical physics graduate students and technologists.

There will be opportunities available for research collaborations with radiology faculty as well as other clinical and basic science departments throughout the campus. Of particular note we have recently established a stateoftheart medical cyclotron the only one in the region and so there will be significant opportunities for involvement with our rapidly expanding nuclearmolecular imaging program. Dualboard certification in both diagnostic medical physics and nuclear medicine physics is preferred.
