Our classroom structure is designed to match students needs. Through an interdisciplinary approach an individual plan is designed for each student. You will plan and implement therapeutic instructional programs for individualsserved on campus who are living with emotional mental and behavioral health challenges under the direct supervision of the Principal.
Devereux Ackerman Academy is a school serving students in grades K12. Ackerman Academy is accredited by Cognia (Formerly AdvancED). For Certified Teachers Bachelors degree required; GAPSC Certification Certified Teacher (Middle or High School Various Content: Math Science Social Studies or English/Language Arts); Grades 612.
EXPERIENCE: Experience with Positive Behavioral Intervention and support strategies preferred. Previous experience working with children/adolescentswith psychological emotional and behavioral disorders cooccurring mental health and substance abuse disorders and/or conduct disorders preferred.
Other qualifications:
Valid Drivers License and Satisfactory Drug Screen and Background Check results.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen a screening that assesses a candidates understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
