The Yale Research Initiative on Innovation and Scale (YRISE) at the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University seeks to appoint a PostDoctoral Associate starting in theacademic year. This is a oneyear appointment with a possibility of renewal for up to three years conditional on satisfactory progress and performance. Candidates must have research and training experience in social sciences or public policy.
This position will focus on developing a research and policy agenda focused on the complexities that arise when taking development interventions to scale. With the complexities of scale as a central interest research and policy activities may span a broad range of topics such aswater sanitation and hygiene; migrant integration and livelihoods; electrification energy and the environment; agricultural extensions; transportation; housing and infrastructure; reducing genderbased violence; delivery of physical health mental health and education services; climate change adaptation; and income generation. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Ahmed Mushfiq Mobarak and have the opportunity to collaborate with leading researchers who are part of the YRISE affiliate network. Requirements:
A Ph.D. in economics public policy or other quantitative social science disciplines such as political science demography by the time of appointment.
Attention to detail and advanced writing and presentation skills for communicating policy lessons.
