Position Number:105070Position Title (Classification Title):Assistant ProfessorWorking Title:Assistant Professor in Computer ScienceJob Summary:The incumbent must be able to teach a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science develop an active research program supported by external funding sources be a mentor to students and be an active member of the department contributing to its success and the mission of the university. Candidates will find the department a stimulating environment conducive to professional growth and interdisciplinary collaborative research. Primary responsibilities include teaching three courses each fall and spring semester conducting research mentoring students in the department and performing service activities that also contribute to the success of the department and the mission of the university. The incumbent will be expected to teach in core areas of computing including computer programming data structures database systems systems computer architecture and AI in both facetoface and online learning environments.DepartmentComputer ScienceFLSA:ExemptMinimum Qualifications:Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment and a strong commitment to teaching academic research and service.Position Qualifications:Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment and a strong commitment to teaching academic research and service.Preferred QualificationsResearch that focuses on artificial intelligence or database systems and whose teaching interest relates to algorithmic programming and theoretical computer science.
