The Wesleyan University Upward Bound and Upward Bound MathScience (UB/UBMS) programs are searching for instructors for its summer enrichment program. Upward Bound and Upward Bound MathScience are a federally funded programs designed to aid lowincome firstgeneration and underrepresented high school students in their preparation for college. The sixweek nonresidential summer program aims to improve academic skills and give students a head start for the upcoming school year. The program also offers other enrichment activities as well for participants from Middletown and Meriden.
UB/UBMS are currently seeking teachers for the following classes: Math Science English Foreign Language. UB/UBMS summer program classes will tentatively run from Monday June 23rd through Friday August 1st Monday through Friday.
Instructors will be responsible for:
This is an oncampus position.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in education or related subject
Experience teaching middle high school or college students in math laboratory science English foreign language or other selected subject areas
Ability to engage and motivate students
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree
Experience in utilization of innovating teaching methods
Experience teaching students for underrepresented backgrounds in higher education (lowincome firstgeneration)
