Job Description
FullTime Lecturer or Senior Lecturer Position in Humanities and/or Social Sciences The Hutton Honors College Hutton at Indiana UniversityBloomington invites applications for a fulltime renewable nontenure track academic year appointment as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the general areas of Humanities and/or Social Sciences. The successful applicant will be expected to teach gateway courses for the Hutton Honors Notation as well as interdisciplinary Honors seminars in their own field of expertise. Lecturer faculty are expected to interact with our highly motivated and successoriented students focusing on teaching (including course development and delivery and the incorporation of innovative teaching techniques) as well as on teachingrelated service such as student mentoring and curriculum development. As such we are especially interested in applicants with a record of successful teaching and mentoring of highperforming students with varied academic majors. Applicants are encouraged to address these topics in the letter of application. The standard teaching assignment for Lecturers is six threecredit courses per year. Lecturers are eligible for promotions to higher ranks in this track (Lecturer to Senior Lecturer and Senior lecturer to Teaching Professor). Faculty in these tracks are not eligible for tenure but will be considered for promotion and/or longterm contracts no later than the sixth year of appointment. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position start date is August 1 2025. The Hutton Honors College serves the entire Bloomington campus.
