Know Your Rights: John Hospital in Leavenworth Kansas is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our MedicalSurgical (Med/Surg) unit. The CNA will provide highquality patientcentered care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and other healthcare professionals. This role is critical in ensuring the comfort safety and wellbeing of patients recovering from surgery or managing medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing dressing grooming toileting and mobility.
Monitor and record patients vital signs such as temperature pulse respiration and blood pressure.
Provide basic patient care including feeding positioning and assisting with ambulation.
Prepare patients for examinations and surgical procedures ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
Communicate effectively with patients families and the healthcare team to support patient care plans.
Assist in the administration of prescribed treatments and medications under RN supervision.
Maintain a clean safe and organized patient care environment.
Respond promptly to patient needs and call lights with compassion and professionalism.
Education and Work Experience
1. Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire required.
2. Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
3. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
4. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office preferred.
