The Mechanical and Industrial Engineering MIE) Department at Northeastern University is seeking outstanding individuals to fill a nontenuretrack faculty position at the rank of assistant associate or full teaching professor with the focus in the general area of Industrial Engineering.
The main responsibility of the nontenuretrack teaching faculty is high quality studentcentered teaching including course preparation delivery and assessment. The annual course responsibility is six courses. The Assistant Teaching Professor is also given the opportunity to participate in department university and professional service activities as well as be engaged in a modest level of research activities for their own professional development.
Course assignments may be at both the undergraduate and graduate levels within the MIE department with primary emphasis on simulation algorithms and optimization data mining database management machine learning and data analytics as well as experience in logistics and supply chain. In addition to teaching the position may require industry outreach to support experiential components of degree program curriculum within MIE.
While not a requirement the nontenuretrack teaching faculty may choose to initiate and undertake research and service activities including but not limited to advising undergraduate and graduate students student recruiting elearning educational research publications and presentations. Such activities are encouraged and supported by the MIE department.
Ph.D. required in Industrial Engineering Computer Science or a closely related field by the appointment start date. Excellent written and oral communication skills and evidence of teaching effectiveness is expected.
Industrial experience is desirable along with familiarity with latest electronic teaching tools and experiential elearning.

Pay Range:
Assistant Teaching Professor: $77000 $90000 Associate Teaching Professor: $87000 $107000 Teaching Professor: $104000 $132000With the pay range(s) shown above the starting salary will depend on several factors which may include your education experience location knowledge and expertise and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarlysituated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
