You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Department of Educational Studies at Knox College invites applications for a fulltime visiting assistant professor beginning September 1 2024. This is a oneyear appointment.
We seek candidates with experience working with elementary school aged children as well as experience working with diverse communities of learners in the U.S. or internationally. The Educational Studies Department is particularly interested in creative energetic teachers of undergraduate students who will contribute to equity within our community through engaging instruction and research.
The successful candidate will model teach and promote the departments philosophy to help students become critical and transformative educators for social justice. We are especially looking for someone with a teaching and research background in elementary teaching methods and/or teaching multilingual youth.
Knox is a diverse college with over 35 of the student body identifying as American students of color and more than 15 international students. Experience working with diverse populations of students and a commitment to teach successfully in a multicultural environment are expected. The College has three 10week academic terms per year with a teaching load of two courses per term.
Visiting faculty members at Knox are included in the professional and intellectual life of the College. The visiting faculty member will have a modest annual conference travel budget and access to research resources. Pay is commensurate with entrylevel faculty positions at the College. A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a K12 environment is required.
