Job Description

The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country with a mission of combating municipal . It serves the people of New York City by acting as an independent and nonpartisan watchdog for New York City government City agencies and City employees vendors with City contracts individuals and
entities that receive City funds.

The Department of Investigation is seeking a Fiscal Analyst with analytical problem solving and creative thinking skills to assist in the daytoday administration of the operating budgets.

The Fiscal Analyst will report directly to the Director of Finance.

The Fiscal Analyst will often have to use independent initiative and judgment to solve problems complete projects and meet tight deadlines. He/she will be responsible for complying with OMB requirements.

The responsibilities of the Fiscal Analyst may include but not be limited to the following functions with some latitude for independent judgment:
Liaise with various internal DOI stakeholders for the purposes of IPR processing maintaining IPR tracker.
Liaise between Fiscal and Procurement to coordinate all interteam transactions including IPR related actions as it pertains to obtaining necessary approvals and budgetary actions.
Maintain availability of sufficient budget funds for payments to be processed within the citywide Financial Management System (FMS).
Perform special projects as assigned and provide assistance to other units within Finance as needed.
Assist the Director of Finance in the preparation of the expense and capital plan documents for the Department of Investigation.
Perform cost benefit analysis.
Support administration of expense and revenue budgets by processing budget modifications reviewing contracts and approving hiring plans.
Prepare technical budget documents including surplus/needs analysis and spending plans.
Prepare and present analytical reports and briefings on related programmatic and budgetary issues
Assist with budget projections the Spending Plan Variance Reports and revenue reconciliation.
