What You Will Be Doing:

The main duties of this position include the following:

  • Developing statewide accounting policies ensuring compliance with GAAP GASB and IRS requirements; as well as ensuring the States accounting system is configured to meet these requirements.
  • Performs statewide training for systems managed by the Division of Finance which includes IRISFinancial and ALDER.
  • Assist with the compilation submission and audit responses for the states Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
  • Supervises the Statewide Warrant Team.

We are offering a rare dualfill training opportunity for this position as the current incumbent will be retiring in June of 2025.

The State of Alaska (SOA) uses four levels of proficiency to measure and describe an applicants level of competence in applying certain behaviors knowledge skills and abilities to accomplish a specific task. The proficiency levels are Mastery Fluency Literacy and Discovery. You will need to rate your proficiency for each competency listed in the supplemental questions.


EDUCATION

To verify education is being used to meet and/or support the required minimum qualifications/competencies you must fill in the Education section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree please indicate the number of units completed. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials used to meet or support the minimum qualifications/competencies for a position and are required with each application.
