Position Summary: The Pastry Specialist will be responsible for strategically utilizing foodservice knowledge and expertise in combination with industry trends and familiarity with The Chefs Warehouse products to provide talking points for our Pastry & Baking lines to our Sales reps and Customers.
What youll do:
- Promote the versatility of our Pastry solutions to operators.
- Collaborate with Sales to determine the best way to highlight and coordinate the Pastry & Baking portion of vendor presentations Marketing Events.
- Heighten awareness of Pastry & Baking inventory through weekly Hot Sheet for items to focus on and push.
- Work closely with Sales and Customers to create interest and solve challenges for operators.
- Research and be current on food trends and provide Pastry & Baking insight both internally and with external customers.
- Participate in food shows presentations and other strategic events.
About you:
- Pastry or foodrelated degree preferred (Food Science Culinary Arts etc..
- At five years of prior experience in a commercial/production kitchen or other professional cooking or food environment ideally with a focus in Pastry & Baking
- Ideal candidate would have prior experience as a Pastry Chef.
- Knowledge of chocolate recipes basic mixing and blending skills and the ability to communicate easily with customers and operators.
- Working knowledge of how food ingredients function in pastry and baked goods.
- Demonstrated success communicating food trends and their applications to a wide variety of audiences and platforms including food shows and virtual presentations.
