Job Description

The Health Information Services (HIS) department at Epworth HealthCare have two new opportunities to join our highly valued busy department/s.

  • Role 1: Permanent parttime 22.5 hours per week based to Richmond campus). Our operational business hours from 15:30pm to 21:30pm Monday through to Friday plus a Sunday 0800am1600pm. Please note you will be required to work onsite in this position there is no capability to support working from home in this role.
  • Role 2: Casual (Working across Richmond and Freemasons campus). Shifts available will vary including day shift (between 8am and 4:30pm) and evening shifts 3.30pm 9.30pm) Mon Friday. Occasional Saturday/Sunday shifts may also be required.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Scanning paperbased patient medical records using the BOSSnet Digital Medical Record system.
  •  Answering telephone enquiries.
  • Responding to information requests in accordance with the departments release of information guidelines.
  • Collecting scanning and redirecting mail.
  • Performing general department administration duties as required

To be successful in this role you will have...

  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to effectively coordinate the various processes and steps involved in the process
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner and an ability to clearly and coherently convey relevant information to all stakeholders both internal and external to Epworth
  • Intermediate working knowledge of the Microsoft Outlook Suite (primarily Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office)
  • A solid work ethic and an ability to work autonomously within a team in order to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
  • Proven high attention to detail and diligence to ensure correct patient information is released at all times
  • Flexibility in a changing work environment with an openness to changing processes and procedures

Desirable (nonessential)

  • Previous experience in similar role
  • Previous experience with a Patient Administration System (iPM WebPAS TrakCare) and a Scanned Medical Record (BOSSnet or CPF)
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
