As Operator Gr2 Construction you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Safety Health and Environment
- Demonstrate behaviour in line with health safety and environmental standards.
- Work collaboratively with supervisor peers and relevant others to achieve operational goals.
- Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to safety regulations.
- Follow SHE standards and specific legislation related to vehicle control.
- Adhere to read and sign all appropriate work instructions and standards.
- Attend Safety meetings with the supervisor and team and ensure adherence to all safety protocols.
- Effectively identify hazards and safety deviations in the area of responsibility.
- Apply SLAM/HIRA/Mini HIRA correctly and report any safety or healthrelated issues.
- Take all necessary safety precautions when working on auxiliary equipment.
- Active participation in SLAMs HPHs relevant Risk Assessments and closeout of Safety Actions.
- Performance and Delivery
- Equipment Operations:
- Safely operate and control mining equipment/vehicles and components or materials as instructed.
- Prevent injuries or damage to assets and ensure compliance with the procedures specifications requirements timeframe and budgetary limits.
- Adhere to all mining regulations and protocols.
- Equipment Inspection:
- Ensure that all required equipment (preshift and walkaround inspections) is inspected for functionality and safety before commencing the task according to regulations and prescribed standards to prevent damage injury and financial loss.
- Report equipment and component deviations to the supervisor to ensure defects are followed up and dealt with.
- Assistance:
- Assist the supervisor and coworkers as and when required.
- Assist within own level/area of competence and according to company policies.
- Training and Compliance:
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to the safe and efficient operation of auxiliary mining equipment. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond to emergencies following established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other members of the mining team including operators supervisors and maintenance personnel to ensure a cohesive and productive work environment.
This role is in the Mining (MIN) at a Band P6 level reporting to the Supervisor.
Qualifications :
- Grade 12/N3 Technical
- Red Permit Certified
- Valid Dover Certificate (when required)
- Relevant HME Licences
- Competency A advantageous
- SA Drivers License Code B
Experience
- Entrylevel role requiring practical experience through internships or relevant work along with applicable licenses or certifications.
- Understand relevant equipment and component functionality of systems e.g. Collision prevention fire suppression system etc.
- Knowledge of Mine traffic rules.
- Radio Loading Lockout and Preshift inspection procedures.
- Safety standards.
- Company policies and procedures
