As aMedical Assistantwith Sentara you will work directly with a doctor conducting phlebotomy (lab) clinical and clerical duties. This positions primary responsibilities include bringing the patients into rooms taking vitals verifying patient information and preparing them for the doctor. Overview
Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training education and competency evaluations and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Education
- High School Graduate or equivalent
Certification/Licensure
- Certified Medical Assistant Registered Medical Assistant Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or certified EMT (EMTB AEMT or Paramedic) required
Experience
- Required to have one year of clinical/administrative experience
- Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting or one year experience as an EMT Paramedic and/or Corpsman preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred plus experience with electronic medical records.

The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$16.92 $25.38Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials standby/oncall overtime premiums extra shift incentives or bonus opportunities.Legal Resources Plan
