MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An earned Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy plus 2 years of postgraduate training (residency fellowship or equivalent experience) and teaching and research experience are required.
Eligibility for Maryland licensure is required.
Excellent communication and patient skills are essential.
Either prior certification or eligibility to sit for examination as a Diplomat of the American Board of Applied Toxicology is required.
Board certification as a DABAT is highly desirable.
Applicants with several years of experience are especially desirable.

School Assistant Professor: $120000 $140000
School Associate Professor: $140000 $190000
Rank and salary will be commensurate with education training and experience and includes a generous benefits package. The anticipated start date for this position is July 1 2025.

The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy is conducting an open rank search for a Clinical Toxicology Assistant/Associate Professor NonTenure Track in the Department of Practice Sciences and Health Outcomes Research in the Maryland Poison Center (MPC) at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. This is a full time nontenure 12month faculty appointment to coordinate research and professional education in the MPC provide administrative support and direct of the Clinical Toxicology Fellowship Program. This individual will serve as cocourse manager for two clinical toxicology elective courses in the UM School of Pharmacy as well as serve as cocourse manager for the clinical toxicology rotation in the Maryland Poison Center.
The Maryland Poison Center is a certified regional poison center serving the majority of the state of Maryland and is a service program of the UM School of Pharmacy since 1972. Located in the UM School of Pharmacys Department of Practice Sciences and Health Outcomes Research the MPC has a total of 25 staff and two faculty positions to help support 24/7 poison center operations.
The University of Maryland Baltimore campus houses schools of Pharmacy Medicine Nursing Social Work Law and Dentistry. The University of Maryland enjoys an excellent established record of accomplishment of successful collaboration for interprofessional practice and research collaborations with the other professional schools on campus.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
This position is responsible to the Chair of the Department of Practice Sciences and Health Outcomes Research. Clinical reporting responsibility is to the Clinical Services/Medical Director for the Maryland Poison Center. Teaching reporting responsibility is to the Chair of the Department through the Vice Chair for Academic Affairs.
SERVICE TO THE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL AND PUBLIC
This position requires teaching practice service to the school campus and the profession and scholarly activity as a clinical toxicologist. In addition to teaching service and scholarly activity this faculty member will provide leadership in their area of clinical toxicology.
Participation in appropriate faculty activities (e.g. faculty assembly department meetings and faculty committees) professional organizations and other endeavors is also expected.
