Reporting to the Director Human Rights and Equity Initiatives in Sheridan Colleges Centre for Equity and Inclusion the Dispute Resolution Officer is an impartial dispute resolution practitioner responsible for serving the Sheridan Community through resolving internal concerns and complaints related to human rights and equity. The incumbent provides early intervention problem solving information and referrals using a variety of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms; and is responsible for conducting complex formal investigations. As a subject matter expert on Equity Inclusion and Human Rights the incumbent is responsible for analyzing complex fact scenarios and interpreting and applying Sheridans policies and procedures the Ontario Human Rights Code the Occupational Health and Safety Act any other applicable legislation and collective agreements where appropriate.
