Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic selfmotivated Senior Network & Design Engineering who thrives in a fastpaced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples IT.

Accountabilities

• Definition of Networking and PAPIS architecture documents
• Development of networking requirements according to the different market and projects
• Preparation of the networking test specifications
• Support for the vehicle functional tests

Required Skills/ Knowledge

• Experience in the railway industry with the role of Network Systems Engineer is preferred.
• Knowledge of the main protocols (VLAN STP VTP) relating to the onboard vehicle network in the railway business
• Knowledge of the main office automation software/tools (Word Excel etc.
• Knowledge of the networking systems and the main architecture implemented in the railway field is required in order to manage throughout the life cycle of the product and with an interdisciplinary approach the design activities development and functional integration of the subsystems of railway vehicle platforms with particular reference to the topics of architecture functions and vehicle performance from the design phase to the final validation phase and analysis of feedback from the field.
• Recommended knowledge of static and dynamic Routing protocols (OSPF EIGRP RIP) MYSQL Linux
• Knowledge of the IBM DOORS requirements management tool
• Knowledge of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation with the aptitude to contribute with constructive and practical ideas.
• Readiness to work effectively in a collaborative fastpaced multitasking international environment.
• Ability to work autonomously in teams and for projects is required.
• Availability for shortterm national and international business trip.

• Ability to manage and plan the assigned tasks independently and teamworking.
• Ability to analyze business requirements problemsolving attitude and business process analysis.
• Ability to face with the different internal functions (internal customer) and external (suppliers customers partners).

Education / Qualifications
Degree in Telecommunication Engineering (or equivalent).

Languages
Good knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory.
