Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer to join the MakeonDemand Technology (MOD Tech) organization. As a Software Development Engineer with the File Ingestion Experience (FIX) for PrintonDemand team you will be responsible for design delivery and operation of file ingestion and processing capabilities with customers throughout the book lifecycle. You will collaborate with partner teams owning independant and enterprise publishing experiences print book quality assurance manufacturing data science and machine learning businesswide operational support and fulfillment of POD units worldwide. You will work with a variety of technologies to innovate new solutions and features that help our independent authors and enterprise publishers seamlessly publish high quality printready content.

Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with experienced crossdisciplinary Amazonians to develop design and bring to market innovative devices and services
Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the books industry
Leverage machine learning and highperformance computing to develop systems that can ingest process and derive insights from data at scale.
Build distributed storage index and query systems that are scalable faulttolerant low cost and easy to manage/use

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
