Job Description
Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic senior software engineer to join the Digital Discovery team in Digital Acceleration. The Discovery team helps customer find ideal digital offerings tailored to their needs from over 350 million products available in Amazons vast marketplace. We do this by building highly scalable multitenant services using AWS cloud Java and RESTful Web Services that delivers tangible value to the customers across all touchpoints of their shopping journey on various devices. We assume comprehensive responsibility for identifying and resolving challenges leveraging existing Amazonwide services where applicable or architecting custom solutions when necessary.
Key job responsibilities
As a tenured Senior Software Engineer you will provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team. You will contribute to the architecture design and implementation of highly scalable services and data processing pipelines. Over the next few years we have exciting and complex technical challenges that present an excellent opportunity for an innovative technical leader to drive product vision and direction.
Your role will involve engineering internetscale solutions to address critical business needs for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing customerfacing applications and robust backend services. You should also possess exceptional technical proficiency a resultsdriven mindset suitable for a rapid pace creativity to devise novel solutions and strong analytical reasoning capabilities.

Amazon Digital Acceleration powers ordering subscriptions and device management for Prime Amazon Video Music Audible Alexa and Kindle amongst other digital businesses. We process billions of digital purchases every year and enable our digital businesses to grow their businesses worldwide. We are on a mission to be earths best provider of onetime and recurring digital commerce delivering a seamless and enjoyable postpurchase customer experience.
5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $150700/year up to $251700/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
