Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Interacts with customers rings transactions on cash registers accepts payment from customers maintains security of cash drawer and reconciles cash and bank deposit.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED service experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greets customers tactfully and pleasantly serves customers.
- Follows all cash handling policies and procedures. Maintains compliance with cash variance policy.
- Operates electronic cash registers accurately and efficiently.
- May be responsible for inventory control. This includes processing new items and stocking products.
- Maintains orderly appearance of register area and stocked supplies.
- May assist with pricing as needed.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to learn and comply with cash register system and procedures
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of customers
- Ability to follow instructions oral and written
- Must have basic math skills
- Ability to multitask and pay attention detail
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Clean retail environment
