The Accounting Supervisor (Hybrid) will supervise review and approve worked performed in the finance business unit. They will direct develop and evaluate staff; and plan administer and supervise large projects. In addition to participation in division goal development and and manage daytoday operations in the finance unit.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned team provide guidance direction and leadership.
- Responsible for the daily tasks of individuals within their span of control.
- Develop cultivate mentor coach and evaluate team to meet individual and company standards and the goals outlined in the divisional business plan.
- Assist with staff maintenance through recruiting selecting orienting promoting and any necessary terminations.
- Provide insight in the annual planning process evaluating team priorities and capacity.
- Set and approve employees work schedule.
- Verify and approve timekeeping records and consult employees about any discrepancies.
- Document performance feedback and other personnel matters.
- Ensure the accuracy of the financial reports.
- Analyze complex financial information to provide accurate financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
- Coordinate review and/or perform financial statement analysis audit inquiries and ad hoc projects.
- Assist management with developing and tracking Finance/Corporate action plans KPIs and KRAs.
- Manage all aspects of technical and nontechnical complex projects.
- Prepare and deliver presentations.
- Maintain working knowledge of specialty areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in accounting finance or business
- 6 years in accounting finance or business
Skills and Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of accounting rules regulations policies and procedures.
- Specific knowledge of insurance industry statutory accounting.
- Solid understanding of property and casualty insurance industry.
- Thorough knowledge of all areas of the division.
- Technical and functional knowledge of processes being supervised.
- Organizational time management prioritization detail oriented and accuracy and precision skills.
- Good logical thinking analytic and problemsolving skills.
- Good leadership skills with ability to mentor coach and handle conflict/controversy/difficult conversations with staff.
- Good oral listening and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively research supervise and embrace rapid change and ambiguity in new accounting treatments and requests not clearly defined.
- Professional attitude and ability to effectively handle stress and motivate staff.
- Ability to establish credibility and influence decisionmaking across the organization.
- Available to work additional hours as business needs dictate.
Payband 6E / 40 hours per week / Hybrid
