About the Team
Arbols Application Engineering team thrives on providing webbased applications that provide our customers access to the parametricbased climate insurance they need.
About The Role
Arbol seeks a Software Engineer to join our application engineering team to support our continued growth. Arbols application engineers are responsible for designing building and maintaining Arbols online insurance applications and our internal webbased operations platform. This role will support our applications development deployment and operation ensuring they are scalable reliable and a pleasure to use.
What Youll be Doing
- Collaborate with your team to gather requirements design and develop scalable and efficient web applications
- Implement frontend components using HTML CSS and JavaScript to create intuitive user interfaces and interactive experiences primarily using React components
- Develop serverside logic using to handle API requests data manipulation and integration with external systems
- Write clean maintainable and testable code in TypeScript for improved code quality and maintainability
- Build responsive and mobilefriendly user interfaces using modern web frameworks primarily React
- Design and develop GraphQL APIs and integrate with thirdparty APIs to facilitate data exchange and system integration
- Participate in code reviews provide constructive feedback and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to identify and resolve issues ensuring high software quality
- Stay current with emerging technologies industry trends and best practices in fullstack development and propose innovative solutions to technical challenges
What Youll Need
- 5 years of experience/ proficiency in JavaScript HTML and CSS with a solid understanding of web standards and best practices
- 5 years of experience with serverside development using and building APIs
- Proficiency in TypeScript and experience with modern web frameworks particularly React for developing dynamic and responsive user interfaces
- Familiarity with cloud platforms especially Amazon Web Services (AWS) and experience deploying and managing applications on AWS servers
- An understanding of software development principles design patterns and data structures
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git) and agile development methodologies
Whats Great to Have
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Previous experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment
$140000 $160000 a year
The provided salary range for this role is for applicants in New York City only based on experience. In other locations salary will vary based on experience and location.
