DSHS ESA Social Service Specialist 12 InTraining
If you are ready to embark on the next step of your social service career consider this exciting opportunity. The Economic Services Administration (ESA) Community Services Division is currently seeking a fulltime Social Service Specialist to join our team in our Wenatchee Community Services Office.
This position is fully onsite with no telework options available.
You will provide professional social services to assist individuals applying for or receiving benefits from the Community Services Division. Your expertise and experience will significantly enhance and support DSHS initiatives.

Who should apply
In addition to candidates who meet the qualifications for the Social Service Specialist 2 position we also consider professionals for a Social Service Specialist InTraining opportunity. The minimum qualifications for this intraining position are:
SSS 1 Level
A Bachelors degree or higher in social services human services behavioral sciences criminal law/justice or an allied field.
OR
Four years of prior social service experience or similar experience.
NOTE: Employees must successfully complete the formal training course sponsored by their division within eighteen months of their appointment. Equivalent education/experience.
SSS2 Level
Twelve months as a Social Service Specialist 1; AND Completion of the agencys Social Service Specialist training program;
OR
A Masters degree in social services human services behavioral sciences criminal law/justice or an allied field and one year as a Social Service Specialist 1 or equivalent paid social service experience;
OR
A Bachelors degree in social services human services behavioral sciences criminal law/justice or an allied field and two years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 1.
NOTE: A twoyear Masters degree in one of the above fields that included a practicum will be substituted for one year of paid social service experience.
NOTE:Employees must successfully complete the formal training course within one year of their appointment.
Upon successful completion of an approximately 12month intraining plan individuals hired as a Social Service Specialist 1 InTraining will be promoted to Social Service Specialist 2. Following this promotion there will be a sixmonth trial service period which includes additional required training to successfully complete the trial service.
