Job Description

Xplore is seeking a Manager of Wireless Standards to lead our New Technology and Standards Team.
In this role you will lead in home device certification as well RAN Access preproduction testing for 4G and 5G RAN ecosystems. Test and vertification of all new features firmwares and products along with supporting OSS functionality will be the primary accountability for this role. The national standards team will evaluate technologies and configurations through a production network clone environment while publishing a set of technology standards documents to enable the broader organization. Standards will include full lifecycle perspective such as RACI in terms of managing the equipment as well as tools thresholds and standards that enable operational management. This role will be accountable to drive the test and verification test plan and processes to ensure features new products and software are ready for commercial rollout. You will lead the New Technology Introduction (NTI) process through a series of cross functional team dependencies as part of change management. This will consist of lab verification commercial pilot processes rollout strategy and post launch warranty period. LAB verification will include comprehensive application and performance testing routines that stress the capabilities and stability of these new features and products. The LAB will include indoor conductive as well as outdoor macro site testing. Interpreting logs traffic simulators and signaling logs you will help drive results by working with the internal integration testers as well as vendors.
This position will report to the Director of Wireless Design as part of the Strategy & Design Network Team

Key responsibilities include:

Develop test strategies and test plans that help to establish a maximum level of confidence as such that products and features have been thoroughly
verified before moving to pilot and production rollout stages.
Serve as primary interface for New Technology Introduction cross functional team initiatives.
Communicate clearly timelines and plans associated with features under test in order to set expectations with the business in terms of product and feature
availability.
Manage vendors and apply pressure on priorities to improve resolution time during bug fix and troubleshooting process.
Drive priorities and work assignments for Test and Verification technologies.
Build standards documentation to be applied through production network engineering.
Lead troubleshooting calls and process as interoperability challenges and complex technical solution escalations are investigated.
Lead test and verification of RAN CPE and in home WIFI and provide readiness sign off to management.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Degree. in Computer Science or Engineering
Minimum 10 years combined engineering experience working for a RAN vendor or wireless operator.
Minimum of 5 years test and verification experience on a preproduction 3GPP RAN environment.
Expert understanding of RF and IP data transmission
Strong end to end architectural understanding of the ISP environment.
Knowledge of test automation procedures simulating TCP and UDP traffic.
Experience developing technical documentation.
Experience with Fixed Wireless and outdoor CPE test and certification.
Experience leading product test and verification from plan through to
Experience with him home WIFI cloudbased optimization and emerging standards.
