Job Description

THE POSITION

Are you interested in a career overseeing drug and alcohol prevention efforts that will make a lasting positive impact in our community CMSU is looking for a motivated and dependable individual willing to provide prevention services with a focus on schools and the community. These prevention services include drug and alcohol education and training for school students and staff. We offer a supportive team environment and a generous benefit package. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist your work will involve providing programs and prevention activities for students parents and community groups to promote awareness of drug and alcohol problems issues and trends in the community. Using a variety of media you will disseminate educational materials to enhance awareness of drug and alcohol related issues. Working in conjunction with the local school districts you will have the opportunity to facilitate the Students Against Drunk Driving Program and organize groups for youth involvement in community projects and social activities to promote healthy lifestyles and enhance protective factors to reduce substance abuse among youth.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday Friday with 30minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist Trainee; or
  • A Bachelors Degree in Health Education Education the Social or Behavioral Sciences or related fields and one year experience in drug and alcohol prevention work; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
