The Opportunity
Are you passionate about applying machine learning cloud computing and data analytics to drive IT sustainability We are looking for a Data Scientist to support our Digital Sustainability Intelligence initiative. This role focuses on developing and implementing ML/AI models to accurately measure analyze and optimize the carbon footprint of IT infrastructure across our private/public cloud environments including AWS Azure and Google Cloud
As part of a crossfunctional team you will contribute to defining a standardized Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology creating datadriven insights for IT footprint optimization and developing a playbook for sustainabilityfocused cloud resource management. Your expertise will directly support regulatory compliance (e.g. CSRD) and Roches Net Zero emissions strategy.
Who You Are
You are enrolled or have completed your Bachelors or Masters university studies at a university preferably in the field of computer science environmental science data analysis or engineering related within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.
Furthermore you are
Passion for Sustainability: A keen interest in sustainability practices and reducing carbon footprints is necessary.
Analytical Skills: Data analysis and interpretation skills are essential for this role.
Technical Requirements: You should be familiar with common AI/ML frameworks (like PyTorch and/or Tensorflow) and programming languages such Python (desired)
Selfdriven. You should take the initiative works independently and stays motivated to achieve goals connecting with a wide number of stakeholders across the organization
Communication Skills: The ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner is a plus.
