Tyler Technologies is dedicated to improving the experiences of millions of Mississippi citizens by making government interactions more accessible and userfriendly. As a Software Developer youll play a key role in achieving this mission. This position is ideal for entry to midlevel developers and reports directly to the Director of Development.
Were looking for engineers passionate about building and supporting web applications and APIs. While experience with Java MVC frameworks is preferred we welcome developers with diverse technical backgrounds. Strong communication skills (both technical and nontechnical) are essential.
We work with a variety of technologies including:
- Java lowcode platforms
- Development and integration of REST GraphQL and SOAP web services
- Batch processing file exchanges and document generation
- Payment processing solutions
- .NETbased web applications
We are currently migrating to AWS utilizing services such as API Gateway Lambda Step Functions DynamoDB Cognito CloudFront and S3.
Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain secure highperformance web applications and APIs.
- Work alongside experienced engineers gaining handson project experience and opportunities for growth.
- Progress from onboarding and learning our best practices to handling increasingly complex development tasks.
- Ultimately take on fullstack development projects as you gain proficiency.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in HTML CSS and basic JavaScript
- Knowledge of API design principles
- Familiarity with OWASP security best practices
Bonus Experience
- Web application security best practices
- AWS application development and deployment
- Serverless Framework
- Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and telemetry tools
- CI/CD pipelines
- PCI or HIPAA compliance requirements
