JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: MAINTENANCE CRAFTSMAN
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of good building maintenance procedures and carpentry skills;
- Knowledge of proper painting procedures and products associated with same;
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision;
- Ability to work indoors or outside in adverse weather conditions if necessary;
- Ability to maintain flexibility in a fastpaced work environment;
- Massachusetts drivers license and safe driving record;
- Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities
JOB GOAL: To maintain physical school properties both inside and outside in a condition of operating excellence so that the full educational and community use of them can be made at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all duties relative to warehousing and delivery of custodial supplies;
- Responsible for inventory of all stock;
- Assist other maintenance departments when necessary including painter;
- Maintains shop office area;
- Delivers equipment and supplies to the schools as needed;
- Requisitions supplies necessary for inventory;
- Is courteous at all times to staff students and the general public;
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities in keeping with the scope of his/her job as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
