Job Description
Target population: ELs at WIDA proficiency levels 12
- Implement small group instructional routines under the guidance of the EL specialists.
- Provide ELs with an opportunity to practice and improve their pronunciation.
- Utilize a variety of intervention engagement and cognitive strategies to foster English language development including preparing students for the type of listening and speaking skills required to help them learn from and communicate with classroom teachers.
- Support the literacy needs of EL students following the guidance of EL specialists and literacy team.
- Provide opportunities for ELs to learn and use academic vocabulary needed for the content areas.
- Collaborate weekly with EL teachers classroom teachers and instructional leadership team to discuss student progress.
Schedule: 5 days per week 35 hours per day
Note: The maximum number of hours a tutor can work per week is 29.
Pay rate: $35.00 per hour $40.00 per hour if the individual has an active VA teaching license)
