Job Description

Reports To: Chief Human Resource Officer

Duty Days: Exempt

Wage/Hour Status: 238 Days

Pay Grade: B09

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree

Effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills

Five years of successful salary/compensation experience

Ability to manage personnel

Knowledge of wage salary and FMLA laws

Ability to interpret policy procedures and data

Primary Purpose:

Will work under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in the management of the districtwide salary administration program; including salary and budget estimates. Also responsible for counseling employees on retirement matters policies and procedures and salary concerns.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Calculate monitor and update salaries for employees.
  2. Responsible for verifying service records and authenticating photocopied documents relating to employees.
  3. Assist the Chief of Human Resource Officer with salary budget preparations and forecasting.
  4. Work collaboratively with the budget department in creating salary and benefit projections and the costing of vacancies.
  5. Responsible for updating and maintaining the annual teacher salary schedule nonteacher pay ranges and stipend schedules.
  6. Responsible for all new year salary accrual stipend years of service and state step updates and review.
  7. Oversight of the HR PEIMS Fall/Spring reporting.
  8. Responsible for calculating the annual costs for additional staffing units and reclassifications.
  9. Monitor and assist with FMLA/KISD leave calculations.
  10. Ensure that district policies procedures and practices comply with the relevant federal and state laws and regulations and assist district employees with questions about these matters.
  11. Oversight of the districts 403 (b) and 457 (b) plans and counsel employees on retirementrelated matters.
  12. Work in collaboration with Human Resources Administrators.
  13. Use management practices that promote collegiality teamwork and collaborative decision making among staff.
  14. Administer the exempt an nonexempt compensation programs and ensure compliance with federal wage and overtime laws.
  15. Responsible for the oversight and submission of all monthly quarterly and annual salary reports (New Hire dept of Labor PARS (quarterly & annual) EE05 and TEC Wage Report.
  16. Oversight of the contract and staffing (position control) areas.
  17. Enhance interdepartmental relations.

  18. Work in collaboration with our contracted auditing teams (July and December).

  19. Maintain all salary job class pay type and location table in the salary management system

  20. Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used:

Personal computer printer copier and fax machines.

Working Conditions:

Work with frequent interruptions maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
