JOB TITLE: Building Instructional Coach
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Building instructional coaches are instrumental in providing highquality jobembedded professional learning and support that results in student success. The role of the coach is to build instructional capacity by enhancing the professional community of NLCS through jobembedded professional learning. An instructional coach is a learner who models continuous improvement lifelong learning and goes above and beyond to ensure teacher and student success.
Instructional coaches will work collaboratively with gradelevel PLCs instructional coaches in other buildings and the Curriculum office. Instructional coaches will promote reflection provide guidance and structure where needed and focus on strengths collaboration and common issues of concern. This is NOT a supervisory position and DOES NOT include evaluation of colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED
Educational Requirements
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Masters degree in education preferred.
Skills
& Knowledge
Excellent oral & written communication skills. Demonstrated teaching data management technology and leadership skills. A strategic and critical thinker with a proven ability to lead thoughtful transformative action in complex organizations. Strong understanding of dialogical coaching and its applicability to enhancing teacher professional growth.
Knowledge of instructional design & highly interactive or innovative instructional methods. Deep knowledge of instructional best practices. Knowledge of Indiana academic standards.
Experience
At least 5 years of teaching and evidence of teacherleadership experience. Experience in effective instructional design and professional development. The advanced ability to set and meet goals and priorities and work with colleagues to implement and drive resultsoriented systems.
