Job Description
The Macon R1 School District is seeking aMiddle School (Grade 6 ELA Teacherfor theschool year.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
- Positive interpersonal relationship skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of digital resources tools and instructional applications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provides instruction to students using effective instructional strategies
- Participates in curriculum review and design
- Creates and implements a classroom disciplinary plan
- Creates lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction
- Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly
- Participates in building grade level and/or subject area committees
- Participates in professional development activities
- Maintains accurate student records including attendance grades and discipline
- Completes and submits forms and required reports in a timely manner
- Communicates regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns
- Reports suspected abuse neglect discrimination and harassment as directed by Board policy
- Prepares lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher
- Attends established traditional schoolsponsored activities (e.g. BacktoSchool Night Open House programs activities and faculty meetings)
- Assumes other duties as assigned
