Job Description

The Macon R1 School District is seeking aMiddle School (Grades 68 Student Success Coordinatorfor theschool year.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
  • Knowledge of behavioral management skills
  • Positive interpersonal relationship skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Lead and oversee the Middle School Student Success Program. Designed to help those academic atrisk students as earlyon as possible
  • Will directly observe students in academic and other relevant environments to gather meaningful data
  • Supports teachers and staff in gathering data essential for implementing positive behavior initiatives and developing Student Support Plans (SSPs)
  • Collaborates with school personnel to foster positive relationships support student success and provide mentorship encouraging independence and personal growth
  • Assists the Behavior Intervention Team in identifying students who are atrisk or in need of academic social/emotional or behavioral support
  • Collaborates with the Behavior Intervention Team to develop Student Support Plans and assists teachers and classroom staff in implementing effective behavioral and academic strategies
  • Works directly with students to teach and reinforce positive replacement behaviors while supporting their academic growth
  • Establish a firm fair consistent behavior management plan to create a structured and supportive learning environment.
  • Facilitates small group and individual instruction overseeing all aspects of learning and development in the student success room
  • Maintains documentation of each students progress that is shared with the Middle School and Guidance Office
  • Participates in and coordinates activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school
  • Pursues and conducts professional development related to this position
  • Maintains ethical behavior and confidentiality in the conduct of district business
  • Assumes other duties as assigned

Terms of Employment:

Nine month contract. Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent.
