This position will be able to request a hybrid telework schedule with the expectation of being in the office if needed. Flexibility is our goal and you will be able to work with your supervisor to determine your inperson schedule.

The Office of Resilience and Climate Action team is looking for a Planner 3 to make a real impact preparing for climate resilience risks by implementing and overseeing Pierce Countys Sustainability 2030 plan. Your level of forward thinking strategic planning organizational skills and collaboration with other County departments will improve the health and wellness of community members through planning action and tracking performance will be tracking the progress of your teammates and County staff managing project timelines and progress and representing the team at leadership is a great opportunity to work in climate resilience strategies and improve the health and wellness of Pierce County citizens now and into the future.

As a liaison to County departments and community partners your collaborative and project management activities will involve meeting facilitation outreach and engagement and ensuring targets are met in the implementation of the Sustainability 2030 plan. You will need to know the Microsoft Office suite and Smartsheet as well as strong knowledge in writing reports providing meaningful content and presentation savvy for our communications team. Having knowledge and a desire to be involved in the actions within our built environment transportation waste reduction and sustainability are very desirable for this position to work towards creating a healthy and clean future.

You will develop an expertise in working on an array of climate resilience strategies in the public sector and you will be a part of how local government works. You will see how changes are made and the impact that you will have directly in the community. Qualifications
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelors degree in planning or related field.
- Three years of related planning work.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience in local county or state planning is desired.
Special Requirements/Qualifications:- Positions in specific programs areas may require programrelated experience education and/or training.
- Must possess a valid Washington State Drivers license or the ability to obtain the license within 30 days of employment or otherwise meet the travel requirements of the position
