Job Description

AfterSchool Robotics (First Lego League) Coach Spring 2025

Description:

Under the direction of the Manager of Extended Learning and K8 STEM Curriculum
Director instructors will work in teams of one or two to supervise a Spring robotics program for
students in grades 68 at the M. English Keverian Lafayette Parlin and Whittier.
FIRST LEGO League (FLL) introduces students to the excitement of science and technology
while building selfconfidence and valuable life skills. Spring Robotics Instructors will guide
student teams to think like scientists and engineers as they design build and program a LEGO
PRIME. Instructors can find lesson plans on the LEGO Edu website to help guide students.


Working Time/Modality:

  • One session per week (Students: 2:454pm) Coaches can choose the day
  • 10 weeks/meeting dates starting March 31st through June 12th

Requirements:

  • Current EPS Teacher
  • Must be available for every session


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with robotics and/or programming
  • Experience with guiding students through handson problem solving
  • Enthusiasm for STEM and ability to model a resourceful cando mindset
  • Experience teaching 6th8th graders


Compensation:

  • $1040 1.5 hours per week x 10 weeks 15 hours total club time plus 10 hours prep time

Number of Positions: 10 positions 2 per school (includes M. English Keverian Lafayette Parlin
and Whittier)
