Casualty Claims Examiner

The Opportunity:

This is a great opportunity to join our dynamic and diverse claims team in Toronto handling a wide range of business lines including Casualty (NonAuto) Property Motor Professional Indemnity and Cyber.

In this role you will be expected to demonstrate technical expertise ideally across more than one of our lines of business. Your key responsibilities will include investigating managing and resolving claims in an accurate proactive manner ensuring compliance with SLAs and agreed authority levels.

Your New Role:

  • Investigate manage and resolve claims efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs and authority limits while managing claims.
  • Support the implementation of the Claims strategy to enable delivery of overall business targets.
  • Identify and investigate coverage issues to ensure that the companys liability is in line with its contractual commitments.
  • Reserve accurately to ensure that the Companys liability is always clear
  • Ensure that messages advice and correspondence are responded to proactively and within agreed timeframes to provide a professional service to brokers and clients
  • Proactively manage estimates and billings calculated by clients service providers and brokers resolving any discrepancies.
  • Regular interactions with key stakeholders including our customers brokers and internal partners
  • Manage disputed Claims and other material Claims issues in order to resolve and settle claims on an economic basis.

About you:

  • Experience in handling Casualty Claims (CGL Claims) is a requirement some experience in handling Property claims would be an asset.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Current knowledge of compliance regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Organisational investigative analytical and negotiation skills
  • Ability to make balanced and impartial judgements
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Relationship Management skills
  • Able to use MS Office applications and strong IT skills
