Position Overview:
We are seeking a handson proactive General Manager to oversee the full operation of our vending route business. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fastpaced environment enjoys wearing multiple hats and can drive both growth and efficiency. The General Manager will be responsible for business development daily logistics inventory management team oversight financial duties and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development and Exceptional Customer Relationship Management:
Identify and close new vending locations to grow the business footprint.
Serve as an excellent communicator responding promptly and professionally to inbound leads pursuing outbound opportunities for expansion and addressing client inquiries and concerns swiftly.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing and potential clients ensuring their satisfaction and identifying opportunities for growth.
Proactively identify potential problems or areas of concern at client locations before they escalate implementing preventative measures and solutions.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
Prepare and submit monthly reports on route performance inventory usage sales and operational insights including fuel and time efficiency.
Use this data to optimize vending route efficiency product offerings and driver schedules.
Daily Inventory Ordering:
Order inventory daily based on route demand and machine stock levels ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
Coordinate closely with pickers and stockers to ensure accurate pull and delivery schedules.
Route & Warehouse Management:
Oversee stockers and pickers to ensure smooth daily operations and timely servicing of all routes including managing machine maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
Maintain a clean safe and wellorganized warehouse.
Monitor and improve logistical workflows and stocking systems leveraging knowledge of vending or lastmile route logistics to optimize service schedules.
Team Leadership and Development:
Recruit train and effectively manage drivers and technicians to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
Foster a positive and accountable work environment holding the team to high standards while providing necessary support and guidance.
Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise among team members or with clients in a professional and timely manner.
Technical Support & Customer Service:
Possess a basic understanding of vending machine functionality payment systems and refrigeration units to effectively troubleshoot minor issues or accurately direct more complex problems to technicians.
Handle all customer complaints or concerns at client locations professionally and promptly.
Financial Operations:
Pay all businessrelated expenses and bills on time (e.g. utilities maintenance suppliers).
Manage daytoday cash flow and maintain accurate expense records.
Revenue Share Payments:
Calculate and distribute revenue share payments to clients on a quarterly basis.
Ensure timely and transparent communication with all revenuesharing partners.
Vendor Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Negotiate favorable pricing and terms for inventory and other operational needs.
Warehouse Equipment & Supply Sourcing:
Order and maintain essential warehouse materials (shelves bins carts etc..
Source and acquire freezers refrigerators or other equipment as needed to support operations and growth.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in operations management logistics or a similar leadership role (vending or retail industry a plus).
Excellent organizational timemanagement and multitasking skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Familiarity with inventory systems and basic financial tracking.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Selfmotivated detailoriented and reliable.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel locally.
Demonstrated ability to lead motivate and develop operational teams.
Proven experience in conflict resolution and fostering an accountable team culture.
Strong understanding of route operations and logistics preferably within the vending or lastmile delivery industry.
Experience in efficient route planning and strategies to minimize operational costs (fuel time).
Proven ability to build and manage effective vendor relationships.
Basic technical aptitude related to vending machine operations and the ability to diagnose common issues.
