Position Description:
Mathematica applies expertise at the intersection of data methods policy and practice to improve wellbeing around the world. We collaborate closely with public and privatesector partners to translate big questions into deep insights that improve programs refine strategies and enhance understanding using data science and analytics. Our work yields actionable information to guide decisions in wideranging policy areas from health education early childhood and family support to nutrition employment disability and international development.
We are seeking parttime temporary nutrition research assistants for a nationwide school nutrition study that is assessing the nutritional quality and cost of school meals. Nutrition research assistants will be responsible for reviewing completed menu surveys to identify missing data and following up with School Nutrition Managers to retrieve this data. Nutrition research assistants will also be responsible for finalizing menu survey data in an online system.
Positions start in early May 2025 and will likely last through August with the possibility of continuing work on other study tasks for additional months. Positions require a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week and scheduling is flexible between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. All work will be completed inperson in our Cambridge office located between Harvard and Central Square in Cambridge.Position Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or prior experience with school food service or school nutrition studies (degrees in nutrition dietetics or related field preferred)
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with navigating online computer programs
- Organized detailoriented and selfmotivated
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility sensitivity and patience in working with school staff
- Prior experience with nutrient analysis software and/or nutrient databases preferred (but not required)
