Job Summary
Provides athletic training support for Springfield School District (SSD) athletic teams covering practices and competitions as needed. It is contracted for the Fall Winter and Spring Seasons.
Essential Duties
- Advises and treats studentathletes on maintaining physical fitness and participating in athletic competitions.
- Provides daily treatment and rehabilitation for studentathletes who have injuries.
- Evaluate athletes physical condition response and progress and discuss with appropriate staff (e.g. athletic director School Nurse Principal etc..
- Informs coaches of athletes condition status and provides referrals to auxiliary medical personnel as needed.
- Records and maintains appropriate medical records for treatments given.
- Provides medical emergency coverage to injured studentathletes at practices and athletic events as needed. Administers first aid until appropriate medical assistance can be obtained.
Additional Duties
- Ensures athletic facilities comply with safety procedures. (EAP)
- Assists with ensuring athletes and staff comply with any health protocols.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Minimum Qualifications (Education Experience Computer Skills etc.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity equity and inclusion
- Bachelors degree in athletic training from a CAATEaccredited institution
- Possess Athletic Trainer licensure through the state of Vermont or eligible to become licensed in Vermont by the date of employment
- Emergency Cardiac Care certification through the Board of Certification

- Masters degree in athletic training from a CAATEaccredited institution
- Experience providing athletic training services
