JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Leadership Prep School is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) The ideal candidate will be a creative visionary who is passionately focused on effecting change and has the ability to merge data and fact with intuition imagination and innovation in an effort to realize the possibilities rather than be content with the probabilities.A dedicated professional who creates a supportive environment by modeling and expecting accountability and responsibility; who exemplifies ethics; who is an effective communicator with exceptional public relations and interpersonal skills who is openminded and perceptive to the needs and expectations of the students campus and district staff parents and other stakeholders and who through the art of collaboration and creative problem solving cultivates individual who motivates and empowers others to become leaders and risk takers and who acknowledges the expertise celebrates the successes and honors the lives of others; and a lifelong learner who perpetuates selfmotivated learning and resourcefully and effectively seeks dynamic change with continuous monitoring evaluating and adjusting.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and serving as a key member of the leadership team the COO will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision for organizational growth operational excellence and fiscal sustainability through driving strategic implementation to achieve Leadership Prep Schools goals.

In addition the candidate should have knowledge of overall school operations including facilities construction technology and safety/security.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

The COO will lead all departments within the operations portfolio and will support and manage the leaders of each department providing guidance leadership and coaching. Additionally the COO is responsible for ensuring topline organizational revenue through its oversight of average daily attendance (ADA) and enrollment. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and vendors the COO will clarify and enact Leadership Prep Schools operations model including oversight of average daily attendance (ADA) student enrollment and school operations compliance. The COO will champion Leadership Prep Schools culture and foster high performance and continuous improvement rooted in a commitment to learn grow and lead for a lifetime.

Long Range Planning

Supervise support and direct Leadership Prep Schools longrange planning efforts including facility needs any future land purchases and for LEA growth and all corresponding operational needs with district a 10year master facility plan and update annually.

Operations Management

Manage multiple K12 operational systems to ensure functionality performance quality and to maximize sound technical expertise and guidance with respect to aligning departmental systems and processes in support of the districts Mission Vision and Strategic Plan to include ongoing assessment and data the operations of various district activities through subordinate directors and service delivery and customer satisfaction through communication and collaboration.

Facilities Maintenance

Ensure LEAs facilities are functional safe clean and an efficient work order and maintain written procedures for maintenance and facilities and recommend coordination of maintenance for extracurricular activities and special the districts facility use plans and specifications for contracted repair work and site improvement for submission to the purchasing department for and enforce procedures for locking checking and safeguarding quality control of all contractor work. Prepare an energy management program and enforce its use.

Budget and Inventory

Compile budget and cost estimates and ensure wise management of purchases and bids to budgetary limitations and LEA inventory controls and recommend disposal of obsolete equipment and machinery.

Policy Reports and Law

Ensure compliance with federal and state law State Board of Education rule and local board reports of complex data to make presentations to the board and other stakeholders.

Safety

Participate in the development of the LEAs safety and disaster plans and be prepared to take an active role in responding to emergencies as and enforce compliance with safety standards in conformance with federal state and insurance regulations including but not limited to asbestos and pest control regulations disposal of trash and/or hazardous waste and occupational health and safety codes and standards.

Personnel Management

Oversee recruitment training and supervision of department appropriate supervise and inspect the work performed by outside Human Resource Services in the review and revision of departmental job descriptions as needed.

Other

Compile reports and make public in professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovative techniques within all reporting good rapport with LEA administrators staff parents and the confidentiality.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Exercise supervisory responsibility for Facilities Safety & Security and Technology department staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree Masters degree preferred.
  • 10 years of experience working in education nonprofit or in operations.
  • 10 years of people management experience including 5 years of systemslevel or executive leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated record of delivering operational excellence.
  • Experience managing organizational growth while maintaining a strong focus on excellence and team culture.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging data to drive strategic planning and .
  • Budget management experience overseeing and managing a complex budget to achieve short and longterm success.
  • Compelling oral and written communication to a wide variety of internal and external audiences.
  • Unwavering belief that we can all learn.
  • Commitment to education.
  • Clear and valid Texas drivers license.
