Position: Site Principal
Reports to: Superintendent of Schools and Assistant Superintendent for Education Services
Supervises: All personnel assigned to the school site
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for valid Oklahoma Administrator Certification.
- Minimum three years successful administrator experience.
- Previous experience as a classroom teacher.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal:
- To assist in the supervision of the functions and activities of building/assistant principals instructional staff and classified personnel
- To assist the school staff and advise the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent in planning coordinating directing staffing and evaluating the instructional and professional development programs.
- To mentor support and collaborate with site principals across the district.
- To establish and maintain an effective learning climate.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board policies and regulations
- Provide the direct and indirect supervision of all students assigned to the site.
- Promote and implement Jenks Public Schools goals and strategic objectives.
- Monitor student attendance for the site.
- Participate in both district and site committees as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
School Climate:
- Establish and maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
- Promote active representation on the Incident Management Team (IMT) and other District Safety Committees.
Teaching and Learning:
- Supervise the educational program by assisting in the development revision and evaluation of the district curriculum.
- Ensure JPS Curricula Continua is implemented.
- Analyze data to support student instruction.
Professional Development:
- Work with the school Professional Development Coordinator and Lead Team to identify professional development needs and opportunities and ensure that staff is made aware of these opportunities.
- Read and share professional resources that support best practices.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Coordinate visits to other schools to observe educational programs.
Resource Management:
- Screen and interview prospective members to recommend to the Chief Human Resource Officer for hiring.
- Supervise evaluate and assign all certified and classified staff members.
- Supervise intern teacher placement.
- Supervise the maintenance of all required site records and reports.
- Identify and monitor budgetary expenditures.
- Nurture and cultivate potential leaders to ensure continuity.
- Work with Facilities Management personnel to assess maintenance needs.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Facilitate Principal and Lead Team meetings to support strategic planning.
- Routinely attend collaboration sessions to support teachers.
- Facilitate staff and site leadership meetings as needed.
Employment Terms: Twelve 12 months a year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Benefits as established by Board policy.
