Vocera now part of Stryker is looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer. You will play a key role as part of our DevOps team developing primarily on the AWS and Azure platforms as well as designing and implementing infrastructure as code for private/public cloud. You will be responsible for maintaining existing and new configuration management code and infrastructure. You will manage the day to daytoday operations of different SaaS products externally as well as internally. We believe in the automation of operational tasks and are seeking an operational engineer with a developer mindset. You will work on a small team so the ability to learn quickly and work independently is essential for this role. This position reports to the Senior Manager DevOps.
What you will do:
Develop longterm operational plans multiregion growth and high availability implementation.
Configure and administer production environments in AWS.
Develop scripts to autodeploy and manage configurations.
Upgrade live applications with minimum downtime Canary/RedBlue Deployments
Collaborate effectively with Engineering and other key stakeholders to negotiate necessary code changes.
Support Engineering in the management and upgrade of the Dev QA environment
Monitor debug and troubleshoot operational issues and upgrade infrastructure (compute storage networking databases and web servers)
Harden and secure production environment; manage access to production.
Manage new customer provisioning issuetracking workflows and their implementation.
Investigate integrate or develop tools to automate tasks.
Develop and maintain tools for deployment monitoring security patching and auditing for Windows and Linuxbased software stack.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Bachelors degree in software engineering/ computer science or related discipline & 6 years of work experience maintaining applications and services on AWS utilizing services such as EC2 S3 Route53 CloudFront CloudFormation Code Build Code Deploy Code Pipeline and Azure services (a plus) including at least 3 years in a DevOps role.
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly desired):
Deep understanding of Docker and Kubernetes (AWS EKS / Kops)
Deploying microservices through automation using Helm.
Ansible for configuration management / Infrastructure automation CI/CD (Blue/Green or Canary) experience with tools like Azure DevOps Jenkins
Experience as a software engineer working on enterprise/cloud/web/SaaS.
Strong knowledge of networking solutions with pfSense and Palo Alto.
Experience with OpenSource DevOps tools for metricsbased monitoring solutions (Prometheus Grafana) Log aggregation (Loki) Container Management (Docker or similar) Escalations Management (PagerDuty or similar)
Deep understanding of system automation scripting and deployment tools including Python / Ansible / Terraform
Demonstrated experience with Databases MySQL Microsoft SQL Server MariaDB
On Call work as needed
Travel may be required.
