Job Description

  • Employment Type: Full time fixed term contract until December 2025
  • Remuneration: Competitive salary package
  • Location: Kensington NSW (Oncampus role hybrid work arrangement available)

Why Your Role Matters:
As Regulatory Response Lead you will provide leadership and guidance to a specialist project team focused on UNSWs approach and response to External Regulators and Senior UNSW Governance forums in relation to wage compliance matters. Offering strategic and operational guidance across regulatory submissions industrial updates and internal communications on wage and Enterprise Agreement entitlement compliance outcomes.

Reporting to the Program Lead you will oversee the team reporting and investigating employmentrelated data and matters ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across workplace relations obligations and as the Lead for the area will drive the Universitys strategic response to regulatory compliance.

Key focuses of the role include:

  • Building and leading a specialised team to develop best practices and consistent reporting frameworks providing advice to senior governance forums for informed decisionmaking on regulatory matters.
  • Overseeing regulatory assessments managing external communications and preparing regulatory submissions.
  • Building key relationships with stakeholders (regulatory authorities industry bodies UNSW leadership and internal teams) to ensure collaboration and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Act as subject matter experience on industry and employment matters (Enterprise Agreement and Fair Work Act 2009 offering guidance on application and serving as an escalation point for complex issues.

Who You Are: Were looking for an experienced HR/ER or employment law specialistconfident advising across industrial and employmentrelated regulatory matters alongside the following skills & experience:

  • Extensive expertise in providing insights on industrial and employmentrelated matters to internal stakeholders including senior leadership teams within a large complex organisation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders build strong relationships manage expectations and influence outcomes.
  • Proven ability to identify and navigate potential conflicts with a track record of managing such situations to achieve positive resolutions.
  • Demonstrated strength in analysing complex environments and formulating detailed actionable recommendations and solutions.
  • Advanced influencing skills utilising sound reasoning evidencebased insights and expert advice to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with sound judgment and the ability to exercise tact discretion and initiative when handling sensitive or confidential matters.
