Job Description

Essential Functions

  • The Director of Womens Basketball Operations is in charge of handling the programs daily basketball operations coordinating its travel itineraries and overseeing the teams student managers oncampus recruiting monitoring the academic progress of student athletes
  • Assisting with video editing systems providing game day management assisting with designing graphics and content of recruiting materials managing the budget contest scheduling monitoring study tables
  • Assist in the recruitment of studentathletes under the direction of the Head Coach
  • Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior regarding adherence to NCAA Conference University and the Department of Athletics and Recreations Code of Ethics
  • Achieving competitive results that demonstrate athletic excellence
  • Demonstrating a sincere interest in the social emotional academic development as well as the athletic welfare of studentathletes
  • Demonstrating excellent writing speaking and listening abilities
  • Exhibiting supportive and cooperative behavior in pursuing sport program goals established by the Head Coach
  • Exhibiting leadership and professional behavior in dealing with studentathletes
  • Participating in continuing education conferences workshops or meetings to increase professional skills and knowledge
  • Contributing to the maintenance of good working relationships with all members of the Division
  • Assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as business periodicals professional journals or government regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and develop related spreadsheets. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interests commissions ratios and percentages.
  • Quantitative and qualitative reasoning are necessary. Strong negotiation conflict resolution and problem solving ability is necessary. The ability to exercise good decisionmaking under pressure is necessary.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills strong organizational skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations with demonstrated exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to support high academic standards and to motivate students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree
  • Experience at the Division I level

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule
Varies Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm. Some weekends evenings and travel

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 9.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $60000$70000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
