Maintenance Schedule/Planner

Job Description

Under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Technician Team Manager the Maintenance Schedule/Planner is responsible for the daytoday of maintenance activities below. A main area of focus is using the Maintenance Management System for planning scheduling tracking and evaluating work orders through completion. The Schedule/Planner will also create schedule and evaluate preventative maintenance routines maintain the Maintenance Management System hierarchy provide leadership updates and provide communication between pilot plant and maintenance team members. In addition to the following employees are responsible for understanding the relevance and importance of the individuals activities in contributing to food safety and reporting situations that may impact food.

Statement of the Job:

Be able to perform duties of maintenance in a way that is consistent with pilot plant and plant policy and standards. The employee must have the following qualifications:

  • Partner with other pilot plant technicians and maintenance personnel on critical work needs.

  • Completion of monthly Preventative Maintenance work.

  • Input and execute maintenance work orders.

  • Complete daily rounds and readings of equipment in pilot plant areas.

  • General mechanical abilities .

  • Knowledge of food processing equipment and understanding of operation and safety protocols.

  • Support projects with internal team and thirdparty contractors.

  • Ability to complete computer work and utilize specific maintenance and purchase order systems.

  • Ability to inspect equipment and products for cleanliness foreign material etc.

Responsibilities:

The employee is responsible for the following duties:

  • Perform the duties of general maintenance area consistent with planned policies and standards with respect to product quality GMPs and safety.

  • Responsible for supporting the upkeep and safe operation of all shop equipment shop tools and necessary pilot plant equipment.

  • Responsible for answering trouble calls and performing preventative maintenance in areas designated by the Maintenance Supervisor and Pilot Plant Manager.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager which may include assignments to other departments or areas of the pilot plant or Morton Grove plant for indefinite periods of time.

  • Responsible for communicating project and work order status to department and crossfunctional employees.

  • Responsible for time management and project deadlines.

  • Responsible for balancing multiple project priorities and accommodating requests or change in schedule.

Leading the Maintenance Management System work in the following areas:

1. Work Orders:

  • Review requested work for accuracy classification need etc.

  • Prioritize work including changing priority code due to equipment criticality urgency of production needs or material availability (expediting will be utilized when necessary).

  • Convert work requests to active work orders online (may include entering work requests).

  • Planning work orders will include

  • Physically scope the job estimate the labor hours and estimate job costs.

  • Review prior job history listing tasks listing safety items.

  • Identify the proper supervisor determine and obtain material requirements contract and special requirements produce specification sheets

  • Schedule work orders will include

i. Prioritize work with Operation and Maintenance supervisors determine manpower availability

ii. Accumulate and assemble details for all maintenance work to be performed

iii. Determine equipment availability through production PM and shutdown schedules

iv. Arrange support help print weekly schedules and print copies of work orders for individuals doing the work.

  • Review status of work orders in progress

  • Closing work orders online when completed

Enter date work was completed

ii. List reason(s) for the failure and action taken

iii. Review the time to complete the work to determine cause of significant variation from plan.

2. Maintenance Stockroom:

a. Manage the maintenance keepstock program.

b. Track stockroom inventory movement.

c. Support maintenance spare parts inventory program build.

3. Preventive Maintenance

a. Through coordination with the pilot plant and maintenance team create schedule and distribute PM work orders through the Maintenance Management System.

b. Analyze PM effectiveness using the Maintenance Management System.

c. Contribute to the continuous improvement of PM schedules and effectiveness reviews with the maintenance and pilot plant teams.

d. Implement PM changes in the Maintenance Management System including updating the PM Action Register.

4 Maintain system hierarchy

a. Add new equipment to Maintenance Management System structure.

b. Remove old equipment from Maintenance Management System structure and assure it is captured in projects.

c. Attach brass tags or fixed asset numbers to new equipment.

d. Update spare parts lists for all items in the hierarchy.

e. Initiate removal of items from stockroom when obsolete.

5. Maintenance Management System support

a. Provide support and guidance to the Maintenance Management System users group.

b. Provide communication link between maintenance team and support areas.

c. Provide or request information to and from support groups engineering sanitation and quality assurance and asset management for problem resolution.

d. Through project engineering area supervisors mechanics and line technicians coordinate the addition of spare parts to Maintenance Management System.

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$61000.00 $76200.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performancebased bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidates geographic region jobrelated knowledge skills and experience among other factors
