REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance
SUMMARY: The job of Custodian is done for the purpose(s) of maintaining an attractive sanitary and safe facility; providing adequate arrangements for meetings classroom activities and events; and minimizing property damage loss and liability exposure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Skills are required to perform multiple nontechnical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: utilizing equipment used in profession.
Knowledge is required to perform basic math understand written procedures write routine documents and speak clearly; and understand complex multistep oral and written instructions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: various positionspecific information learned onthejob.
Ability is required to schedule a significant number of activities meetings and/or events; collate data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific defined processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with specific jobrelated data; and utilize plans. Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is significant. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; communicating with diverse groups; and meeting deadlines and schedules.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; leading guiding and/or coordinating others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of significant resources from other work units is sometimes required to perform the jobs functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the Organizations services.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling; and some finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5 sitting 70 walking and 25 standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and some hazardous conditions.
