Job Description

Description

This is a remote scribe position reporting to HIMSDocumentation Services and providing service to Rochester Dermatology department. This is a supplemental position which means hours are available as needed to support business needsbut not guaranteed. This position will be supporting up to 20 dermatology providers. Performs transcription and editing of patient care documentation ensuring completeness and accuracy. Demonstrates commitment to quality and excellence with internal and external customers. Provides highacuity documentation support across all clinical hospital and surgical specialties. Routinely serves as a resource and mentor to others as opportunities arise. Demonstrates initiative technical proficiency and effective communication skills. Ability to remain focused on detailoriented work with minimal distractions. Initial travel may be required for orientation and training purposes. Performs other duties as assigned. Candidate will work on all inpatient and outpatient report types across all Mayo Clinic sites and specialties.

This Position is 100 Remote can work from anywhere within the United States

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent required. Minimum of five years experience of multispecialty clinic and hospital documentation experience including proficiency with hospital operative notes. Must have computer and transcription equipment proficiency. Must have experience and proficiency in editing speech recognized text. Requires successful completion of a Mayo medical transcription skills test.

Requires excellent application of grammar punctuation and English usage. Should be able to understand diverse accents and speech variations. Must possess strong skills in listening attention to detail organization clerical aptitude and interpersonal relations. Requires good decisionmaking and judgment. Requires the ability to prioritize work and follow through independently; support a variety of authors departments and types of clinical documentation; and work collaboratively and professionally. Must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and work independently with minimal supervision. Not required. Professional certification by Health Information industry professional groups (AHDI AHIMA HIMSS) preferred. Ability to successfully work independently in a remote environment. Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues. Minimum of 2 years experience working as a remote scribe preferably with dermatology focus. Experience with documentation in Epic.
