Job Title: Contracts & Compliance Supervisor

Working Hours: 1931.4 annualised hours.

Salary:Dependant on Experience 390 per month Car Cash Allowance trust benefits.

Location: Home working with regular travelling around the Yorkshire & North East & regular meetings at the Leeds Hub.

We are currently recruiting for a Contracts & Compliance Supervisor. The role will be responsible for the supervision of vegetation civil service and other operational contracts operating in the regions; ensuring the works delivered are safe on time to specification and to the required quality standards. Developing an ongoing practical relationship with the contractors delivery teams but representing the Trusts interests via robust contract supervision audit and administration is a fundamental requirement of the role.

The Contracts & Compliance Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the regional teams with site set up and supervision ensuring compliance with CDM temporary works supervision and health and safety requirements helping to deliver work programmes in area teams.

Our Contracts & Compliance Supervisor will work an annualised hours system which includes working statutory holidays and weekends on a rota you must be happy to work in an on call rota. This will include participation in the planning and delivery of a 24/7 on call response to ensure visitor and neighbour safety and satisfaction is maintained at all times.

You will also be working with other staff and volunteers.

Full UK Driving Licence Essential.

Key accountabilities:

• Responsible for the scoping and briefing of specifications of contract works including vegetation management high risk trees winter clearance programmes aquatic control control of invasive species refuse and flytippingand other specialist contractors as necessary.
• Supervise inspect and audit on site contractor delivered works highlighting areas of under performance to the Contracts & Compliance Manager in a timely manner and ensuring corrective measures are implemented on site to bring performance back inline.
• Administer contractrelated documents and correspondence providing information for performance reports as required.
• Support the regional teams site set up and on site compliance with mandatory standards such as CDM LOLER welfare and Temporary Works; ordering materials and equipment as requiredin support of these works.
• Act as Temporary Works Supervisor when required.
• Supervise the delivery of Corporate delivered/funded projects within the region.
• Task manage and support volunteers to help us as a charity ensure that volunteers have the necessary training skills and competencies to carry out the role of auditor or other appropriate task.
• Provide prompt response to customer enquiries and complaints communicating with the customer service team as necessary.
• Provide other operational support to the regional teams as necessary to ensure consistency between teams such as training equipment needs and compliance with Trust and extneral processes and requirements.

About you

Qualifications and Attainments

• Recognised qualification e.g. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds or Completed Apprenticeship in relevant field.
• Maths and English GCSE
• Temporary Works Supervisor Training for construction activities (or willingness to work towards).
• Attainment of a recognised safety qualification (or willingness to work towards) or proven safety related experience
• Full driving licence

Work experience Demonstrableexperience of successfully supervising projects or programmes of work with a relevant discipline. Demonstrablecontract management experience and relationship management. Management of projects or programmes of work. Some experience in customer service. Experience of leading volunteers. Relevant heritage and environmental awareness.

Skills Good interpersonal and communication skills Working knowledge of basic computer systems including SAP & Microsoft Office Good numeracy and literacy skills Good organisational skills

Safety Lead by example ensure you take responsibility for the safety of colleagues volunteers contractors and customers. Comply with Canal & River Trusts Health & Safety policy and defined standards. Investigate and report incidents accidents and near misses. Ensure safe use of appropriate equipment prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements ensuring contents are understood and acted upon.
